Ryan M. Klassen

OVERVIEW

Ryan is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group and has been practicing in real estate for over a decade. He regularly acts for developers, institutions, public bodies and private companies on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, financing, leasing, structuring and land development. Ryan is known for his broad depth of knowledge in real estate matters and identifying practical and efficient solutions.

Before joining the firm, Ryan practiced with both a large firm in Vancouver and a boutique business law firm.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys working on his house, cooking, exploring the Vancouver food scene and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

REPRESENTATIVE CLIENT WORK

• Acting for developers in all aspects of residential and mixed-use developments, including single-family residential, multi-family residential, bare land, airspace agreements and strata property throughout the province
• Advising property owners on land use and regulatory issues, including subdivision, servicing, zoning, rezoning, permitting, development cost charges, and other issues relating to local government approval processes
• Working with local governments, public utilities and various governmental and regulatory authorities with respect to real estate development and land use issues
• Acting on the acquisitions and sales of commercial and residential real estate and businesses (assets and shares), including associated financing
• Leasing of office, industrial and retail space throughout B.C., and drafting and negotiating telecom licensing agreements
• Acted on developments involving multi-airspace parcels with mixed-use retail, commercial, social housing and residential complexes
• Acted on the acquisition of a large mixed-use development site in foreclosure
• Acted on the acquisition of numerous sites for social housing projects throughout the Province
• Acted on the acquisition of a hotel and associated nominee corporation in downtown Vancouver
