The last revision of the Motor Vehicle Act was made in 1957, and the Road Safety Law Reform Group, chaired by David Hay, K.C., is recommending as one of the changes that the Provincial government should rename it to the “Road Safety Act” to be more inclusive of all road users. “There’s a disconnect between what’s happening on the ground and what’s happening in legislature,” said David, who leads our Personal Injury Practice Group. The Group feels the Act needs to be updated to align with modern transportation and changes to infrastructure in order to achieve better road safety.
