David Hay, K.C. and House Arrest Lead the Way – Over $130,000 Raised for the Benevolent Society

Hosted by the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch, lead vocalist David Hay, K.C., and his band took the stage at the 2026 Vancouver Battle of the Bar Bands, raising awareness and funds for an excellent cause. Bringing together members of the legal community for an evening of live music and fundraising, the event was especially meaningful as the band retained their trophy, winning the competition by unanimous vote!
The Benevolent Society, of which David is president, provides emergency financial assistance, without judgement, to lawyers, law students and their families who are facing challenges such as addiction, depression, injury, or illness. To access support or learn more, visit here.
