Richards Buell Sutton hosts BC Land Title Survey Authority

With Phase II of the mandatory electronic filing of land title documents coming into effect on May 7th, 2012 it was suggested that an in-house “Lunch and Learn” seminar for everyone in the firm would be ideal.  Phase I came into effect on January 16, 2012 and while everyone in Real Estate was already comfortable working with many of the Land Title Office e-filing forms, Phase II will be encompassing more than just your regular Forms A, B and C and it would not be just those working in Real Estate that would need to know how to prepare, sign and file LTO forms.

On March 8th, 2012 our Real Estate Team organized a “Lunch and Learn” for everyone firm-wide who would need to start using the new LTO forms. We had a total of 33 people from within the firm attend!

We were privileged to have Deputy Registrar Tim Jowett for New Westminster Land Titles attend in person and he brought with him Larry Blaschuk, Registrar for Land Titles. Alisa Markley, a Trainer for the Land Title and Survey Authority joined via webinar.

The “Lunch and Learn” was a huge success with everyone walking away having learned something important to their practice – whether they worked in real estate, litigation, foreclosures or with the firms wealth preservation team.

RBS is ready for Phase II with many already working with all of the e-filing forms, whether they are mandatory or not.
