OVERVIEW

Michelle joined Richards Buell Sutton LLP in 1988 and is a senior paralegal with the firm’s Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate Development and Real Estate Lending Practice Groups.

Michelle has extensive experience in a variety of real property transactions involving real property acquisitions, sales and financing matters (both assets and shares), including lot consolidation, land assemblies and subdivision matters.  She has extensive knowledge of due diligence requirements for vacant or development land, commercial properties, industrial and multi-unit residential and commercial properties, including title matters and registration requirements relating to properties governed by the Land Title Act and Land Registry Act.  Michelle prepares and completes all due diligence, drafts all security and ancillary documentation from commencement through funding to closing and reporting, including reviewing contracts, land title and related charges and plans, updating real property titles to reflect corporate restructuring and amalgamations and liaising with municipalities, Land Title Office staff and various governmental agencies.

Michelle has participated in many volunteer activities, including volunteering with the Vancouver Food Bank, supporting her children’s hockey team as Team Mom, Safety Person and Treasurer (2015 – 2016) and holding a position at her children’s school on the Parent Advisory Council (2014 – 2015).
