RBS Donates $250,000 to UBC’s Business Law Clinic at the Peter A. Allard School of Law

Our connection to UBC is deep and spans more than a century. RBS’ predecessor firm drafted the original University Act in 1908 establishing The University of British Columbia. Many of our lawyers are graduates of UBC’s programs, returning over the years to give presentations to students. In 2011, we made a substantial donation towards the construction of what is now the Peter A. Allard School of Law, and our contribution lives on through the Richards Buell Sutton Reading Room located within the law school.

A partnership we greatly value, our current donation, which is a testament to this, ensures the Business Law Clinic remains operational over the next 5 years. The Clinic provides free legal advice to businesses, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and individuals. Under the supervision of a practising lawyer, law students benefit from developing practical skills while learning about substantive business law.

It is our privilege to contribute to a leading educational institution which plays an important role within our community.
