Assistant
Sharon White is a partner of Richards Buell Sutton LLP and is the Chair of its Securities and Corporate Finance group and a member of the Intellectual Property group. Her practice includes all aspects of corporate, commercial and corporate finance law with emphasis on structuring and reorganizing companies, international and cross border transactions, financings of a variety of equity, equity linked and debt instruments and derivative products (including asset-based lending). She has conducted a number of acquisitions and project financings involving significant transactions carried out in many different jurisdictions. Sharon has advised numerous companies and investment funds in connection with their launch and ongoing obligations and activities.
Sharon has also, more recently, been advising on a variety of special projects undertaken by clients, which have involved a number of parties in unique collaborations. She is readily available and accessible to her clients to help them identify and manage their risks, structure their transactions, and provide solutions to assist them in achieving their goals.
A graduate from The University of British Columbia in 1979 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, she obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree in 1980. She was admitted to practise in British Columbia in 1981 and in Bermuda in 2000. For three years, Sharon practised law with Conyers Dill & Pearman in Bermuda, an internationally recognized law firm with offices throughout the world, before returning to Richards Buell Sutton LLP in 2002.
Sharon is the past Chair of the Securities Section of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and also a former member of the Securities Advisory Council of the British Columbia Securities Commission. She is a former director of Partnerships British Columbia, a company owned by the Province of British Columbia which is responsible for bringing together ministries, agencies and the private sector to develop projects through public private partnerships. Sharon was also a former director of Farm Credit Canada, a federal Crown Corporation with assets under management in excess of $18 billion.
