Randy Klarenbach practises in the Real Estate group at Richards Buell Sutton LLP giving general business advice with a focus on real estate development and commercial leasing and a particular emphasis on condominium law.
Randy has been involved in the acquisition, development and sale of raw land and the sale and purchase of existing real estate projects, including obtaining municipal approvals, the preparation and filing of disclosure documents and the creation and structure of joint venture projects.
Recent transactions involve both single sale and syndicated condominium developments (commercial and residential) strip malls, single title retail buildings, and large acreage ranch lands.
He is also the author of a textbook on the subject, Developing Condominium Projects, at the request of legal publisher Thomson Carswell. The book is a practical reference for lawyers acting for developers and owners of strata projects. It covers the development, approval and early stage administration of condominiums and is available across Canada and the United States.
Randy has a long history of community involvement. He is actively involved with the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, was the founding organizer and a lecturer with the Business in Vancouver supported Critical Mass seminar series and has participated in numerous lectures and seminars on real estate related topics. He has been the British Columbia Government Liaison Chair for the International Council of Shopping Centres. He has been recognized by the Canadian Blood Services for his contributions as a blood drive co-ordinator and blood donor and has served as a member of the Gambier Island Advisory Planning Commission and on several charitable boards.
