Peter W. Lightbody, Associate

Peter Lightbody is an Associate with Richards Buell Sutton LLP.  He has practised exclusively in the area of litigation since completing articles with RBS in 1997.

Peter's estate practice includes acting on behalf of clients under the Wills Variation Act, and regularly advising clients on contentious estate issues including committeeships, undue influence, testamentary capacity, and executor/administration disputes including breach of fiduciary duty and passing executor accounts.  

Peter has significant experience acting for both insurers and Plaintiffs in motor vehicle accident cases.  Peter is our principal contact with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.

He has also represented both employer and employee in a wide variety of employment related disputes, including wrongful dismissal claims, Employment Standards Act proceedings, and complaints under the Human Rights Code.

Peter has conducted numerous trials at the Provincial and Supreme Court levels, and has considerable experience appearing as counsel at mediation.

Background

Peter was raised and lives in the North Shore of Vancouver.  He has family roots in British Columbia back several generations.  Peter enjoys skiing, soccer and all manner of activities thrown his way by his wife and three daughters.
