Assistant
Jennifer practises in the Real Estate group providing general business and real estate advice with a focus on real estate development and commercial leasing. She acts for a diverse client base regarding the buying, selling, leasing, financing and development of commercial real estate specifically relating to shopping centres, hotels, apartment buildings, office building, resort and industrial properties. Jennifer has been involved in the acquisition, development and sale of real estate including the subdivision of raw land, obtaining municipal approvals, preparation and filing of disclosure documents and related financing matters. Jennifer also has significant experience with complex leasing transactions on behalf of both commercial tenants and landlords in retail, office, industrial and recreational properties. Jennifer joined Richards Buell Sutton LLP in September 2010. Prior to joining the firm, she practised commercial Real Estate and Business law in the Vancouver offices of Canada's two largest national firms.

- Acting for commercial landlords and tenants with respect to the negotiation, drafting and review of leases for various premises (office, industrial, retail, strata and properties on first nations lands)
- Acting for vendors and purchasers of office buildings, shopping centres, commercial and industrial properties
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing purchase agreements (involving land, share and asset transactions)
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing acquisition and construction financing documents

- Acting for developers of multi-family residential and bare land recreational developments in the Lower Mainland, Whistler, Vancouver Island and the Interior of BC, including strata conversions, phased , mixed used developments and fractional/ share interest recreational properties
- Acting for lenders regarding the marketing and sale of residential and development properties in foreclosure or under conduct of sale
- Advising clients on structures for real estate transactions, including joint venture and co-ownership agreements
- Providing day to day real estate and leasing advise for real estate related companies including key players in the hospitality industry in the Lower Mainland
- Providing real estate advice on large credit facilities and large infrastructure projects
