Trisha Doré is a registered Trade-mark agent who has been practising in the field of trade-mark law since 1989. She specializes in the preparation, filing and prosecution of trade-mark applications and oppositions in both Canada and the United States of America. Trisha is recognized to practise before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the United States Patent and Trade-mark Office. Prior to joining Richards Buell Sutton LLP in July 2001, she practised for 12 years with a Vancouver firm which dealt exclusively in intellectual property with its primary focus on trade-marks.
Awards
Trisha was the recipient of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada's Endowment Memorial Prize for the highest results in Canada on the trade-mark agents examination in 1995.
Areas of Practice
Trisha specializes in trade-mark development, trade-mark availability, searching, trade-mark prosecution and opposition. Advising clients on specific strategies in the development and evolution of trade mark portfolios for both domestic and international clients. Working with clients to create a framework for the administration, proper use, licensing of marks and policing of counterfeiting. With a particular focus on world wide portfolio management.

The Committee's focus is on evaluating trade mark office practices, procedures, operations and regulations at the national, regional and international levels. It develops and advocates policies to improve such practices, procedures, operations and regulations.

INTA Special Committee for the Internet
Trisha was appointed to the special committee for the Internet. The Committee's focus is on evaluating treaties, laws, regulations and procedures relating to domain name assignment, use of trademarks on the Internet, and unfair competition on the Internet; develops and advocates policies to advance the balanced protection of trademarks on the Internet.
2004-2005 Committee Assignment - Anti Counterfeiting & Enforcement Committee
The Committee's focus is on evaluating treaties, laws, regulations, procedures and other enforcement mechanisms with respect to anti-counterfeiting and enforcement; develops and advocates policies to advance protection against counterfeiting and infringement; provides anti-counterfeiting and enforcement education.
