Richards Buell Sutton LLP, BC's Oldest Law Firm, celebrates it's 140th Anniversary.
Vancouver, BC - Richards Buell Sutton LLP is thrilled to be celebrating it's longevity in the legal community and it's dedication to the people and the communities of the region.
The BC legal marketplace has seen some incredible changes over the last 140 years. During this time, RBS ancestors have been Supreme Court Judges, Attorney Generals, Premiers, Lieutenant Governors, Mayors, Ministers of Justice, as well been awarded the Order of Canada, held prominient positions with the Vancouver Board of Trade, the Law Society of British Columbia and many board positions in both private and public companies. The colourful lineage of the firm is even linked to Canadian Confederation, Oscar Wilde, and the Kamloops Airport. Firm members are responsible for drafting the first University Act in 1908, establishing The University of British Columbia and we have been university solicitors since. When the new courthouse opened, in what is currently the Vancouver Art Gallery, we laid claim to locker #1. RBS also claims four streets, one mountain, a town, and a river in our history.
British Columbia has seen growth that has it consistently placed in one of the top regions to live. RBS prides itself on having created an atmosphere that encourages individual growth of knowledge and skill, while maintaining a balance of other demands for our time - family, community invovlement, extra-ciricular activities.
